Besides teaching I love to hang out with friends n discussing football n politics takes majority of our discussions.

                                



Before we start with our journey lemme take a break to observe my jummah prayer's n we move straight to action #CurateWa

                                             



The upper west region is the last region to have being created in Ghana #CurateWa

There are 11 districts in the upper west region #CurateWa

Major ethnic groups found in this area are Waalas Dagaabas Sissalas Brifos with a population over 500000 #CurateWa

Hausa kooko and koose is a common dish that dominates the breakfast table of many residents #CurateWa 

                          


Popular politicians in the region include the founder of PNC n president of the fourth republic of Ghana Dr Hilla Limann #CurateWa

Founder of PNC and former president of the fourth republic of Ghana 


Food such as Tz( tuo zaafi ) konkonte, rice, banku,kapala(fufu)etc are the commonest u can find in the region  #curateWa


Currently at the regional basketball court,Wa #curateWa. Where the youth gather every evening to keep themselves fit 



                                     



District capitals. Inter marriages between the different ethnic groups exist such as Waalas n Dagaabas, Brifos n Sissalas etc #curateWa

I cannot end this session without talking about the beautiful n well maintained historical sites in the region. Take ur time n relax cuz....

The Pelican Hotel


There are many historical/tourist sites in the region. The main ones r the Nkrumah Detention camp (Lawra) #CurateWa 


   



                            
Amazingly one of the oldest mosque in west Africa is located in the Wa municipal, it believed to be 500 years old  February 1516...

Many ppl always see upper west as a conducive environment for businesses especially Wa municipal.

Wa is the capital town of the upper west region and the Wa municipal,with a settlement population of about 125,556.#curateWa

Wa is the youngest regional Capital in Ghana and ranked 7th largest in the country with a land area of about 18,476km2.

The region is located in the northwestern part of Ghana, sharing borders with upper east to the east, northern region to the south,#curateWa


and Burkina to the west and north. Wa the capital is precisely inhabited by the Waala, and Was carved from the then upper region in 1983.

The political administration of the region is devided into 11 districts with Wa as the capital. #curateWa

A distinctive feature of our culture is the brewing of pito, a sweet, mildly alcoholic beverage prepared from sorghum.#curateWa

Pito is sold from open air bars by the brewers and usually served on calabashes. #curateWa

Wa has just one Airstrip, which would be upgraded to a modern airport as reported by president John Mahama yesterday.#curateWa

The town is also blessed with a campus of the university for development studies located at a suburb called Bamaahu. #curateWa

Wa Naa palace, home of the king of the Waala people is one of the many tourists attractions in the region.#curateWa


                          


The palace is an extraordinary example of traditional architecture.it was built in the 19th century.#curateWa

                          

The mud-brick structure was built in the traditional Sudanese style from mud and y shapes wooden columns.

                               


The wechaiu hippo sanctuary is yet another important destination for tourists. It is located in the south west of Wa.#curateWa



Arrived safely to the mosque and ready for prayers. You can take a breather and when I return, we continue.#curateWa


                                




The hippo sanctuary can be found along the black Volta and a very nice place to hang out during your leisure time.

We also have the Gwollu wall in the sissala district,which also serves as the hometown for Ghana's past president Dr Liman.#curateWa

The curate train takes a turn to look at those interested in chilling. We have K.G spot, Brotherman spot, lormans to hang out. #curateWa

Going on air to discuss Sports on Gbc radio upper West. Will be back shortly to end the day with u all.#curateWa

                                                      


Those who are also in the region and are football fanatics, u can tune in to Gbc 90.1 FM for all ur latest in the world of sports.#curatewa

Currently doing sports on radio with a young and vibrant coach, John kanduma. #curatewa

                                                       

Wa Allstars is the only representative of the three northern regions and is the Only pride of the region.#CurateWa

So if u in WA and wants some mouth watering action in the Ghana premier league,just drop at the WA park and enjoy live action.#CurateWa

The political arena include former president Hilla Limann from Gwollu in the Wa East,Ben kunbour, Abrose Dery,Alban Bagbin.#CurateWa.

In the entertainment industry,we have some few famous names in Samini and Neola Wiyaala and local sensation called Samson B.#curateWa

In the sporting sector, Wa is blessed with giants in football like Gfa president Kwesi Nyantakyi, assistant black starts Coach,Max kunadu...

It's been lovely going around town with you all and I believe many have leant loads of goodies abt Wa.#currateWa

Did you know that two of our finest musicians; samini and wiyaala hail from the youngest region in the country? #curateWa

We carry out various surgeries at the theatre and I work with a bunch of fun colleagues #curateWa
